Michael is still in Oz for a visit, and staying with the Brisbane team. Nick still offline, Olivia getting out and about and James in misty Oxford. The year starts on a good note for most.
February travels - Michael retuns to France, James trails around England for work, Olivia takes a trip to South Island Aotearoa New Zealand, Stephen and Paulie spend time in Melbourne and Stephen in Canberra.
Paulie heads to Adelaide for the Writers Festival and Stephen tags along. Nick is still up north. James has a work trip to Uganda and Olivia entertains the oldies, and continues to get out and about around Adelaide. A fine balanced month for most.
An action packed month- James and Keno spend time in various regions of Spain around Easter; niece Shari marries Pete; plenty of visitors for the wedding; and various visits.
The month was a busy one for all. Berlin, Auckland, Adelaide, Brisbane and Oxford all played host to the clan. The anticipation of a return to France ran through the month.
Paulie and Stephen head to England and France for close to a month. Jame and Olivia join them for some of it. The first time back in 3 and a half years! James fitted it in between a wedding in Germany and work in Bulgaria. Olivia took leave after a lot of overtime from her Adelaide hospital.
On one hand resident feline, Rosie (heading for her 18th birthday) is becoming frail. Nick is still doing it tough in Mareeba. But other members are looking to buy a house in Oxford, are working hard in Adelaide, and celebrating at Chateau AthoTurnbull (which Olivia came up for). This meant July was a month of contrast.
A busy one. Our feline friend, Rosie, is in palliative home care. James and Keno are are keen on a house in Oxford and James attends his half-bro Daniel's PhD ceremony. Olivia balances work and play with skill. Nick is still in Mareeba, and the oldies make plans for the future. Oh, and Stephen's role was made redundant.
September was a month of chores. New mattress, tax returns, conversations with potential employers, various repairs. Crunch time approaches - stick it out in Brisbane or rent the house and head to France? I believe it was Proust who wrote that he point of every trip is not new sights, but new eyes.
Decision made. The team head to France on December 2nd. But before then a road trip is in order to get heads straight, see pals, see some Australia. A very busy month arranging visas (and the immense frustration making an appointment), installing aircons and other chores, and of course driving 4,000+km to Adelaide and back via a lovely corner of Victoria.
The team get the Brisbane home ready for Montreal guests, Stephen heads north to see Nick, Olivia comes to Brisbane for parental birthdays and to say goodbye before said parents leave for France, James and Keno have found a house in Oxford that will hopefully become their home.
The year winds up with a Francophile bang for Stephen and Paulie as they move to their French pad for a while. Olivia birthdays in Bali, Nick is still up north, and James and Keno purchase their new home and keep busy.
