Pilgrimage winds up, more comfortable travel begins

Site updated on 08 Jun 2014

On May 24 Nick arrived at the AthoTurnbull French estate, La Cachette, in St Antonin N.V. He had been hanging with fellow pilgrims in Madrid for a bit. After busing from Madrid to Toulouse and training to Montauban he hired a car. This car meant he could visit local attractions like Penne, Bruniquel and Najac.

On the 29th he headed to Provence for a trip and crashed (in the car) in Montpellier. He visited lovely Carcassone on the drive back to St Antonin N.V. Nick enjoyed La Cachette & on June 1 he said that there was an "awesome market on today, the normal Sunday one plus an artisan fair". He returned the car to Montauban on the 2nd and jumped on a sleeper train to Holland to meet Camino pilgrim pals.

Next? On the 11th June he flies Amsterdam-Venice and hangs there. On June 21st leaves Trieste for London and stays at his Bro's. The catch is said Bro James & partner Anthony will be meeting travel weary Stephen in Heathrow terminal 5 that day to head to Toulouse and St Antonin N.V. Paulie had been since June 4th.

Next time we see Nick, the whole clan (James, Paulie, Stephen, Nick, Olivia & Lochie) jump in a van in Oxford and head to Scotland. Roadtrip!
