Owen Traynor hits the big Five - O

Site updated on 04 Aug 2014

Owen turned 50 on July 29th, and on August 2nd celebrated the fact with friends and family. The gig was at Chateau AthoTurnbull and was marked with the expected amount of Caledonian reverence. Stephen and Owen kilted up (it doesn't take much), Paulie requisitioned the Turnbull dress tartan cumerbund, and Denise slipped on the tartan trousers.

Most guests were not known to Paulie & Stephen being Owen's work pals, but a fair share of joint friends were there. As with the wedding celebration 5 years and one day prior, and Owen and Denise's farewell when they left to work in England in 2007, bagpipes were a surprise addition (interestingly this piper's girlfriend was a drummer in the 2009 gig). Owen's famous haggis and delicious Smorgasbord (aka festival of meat) tamed the hunngry guests. At around 2am Clan Traynor left for home and jig-injured Stephen limped to bed.
