September Assaults

On Sunday Sept 8th, Paulie, Olivia, Lochie, Nephew Toni and Kirsten walk to support Parkinsons. Paulie's Mum, Betty, suffered from it and was always interested in the research. So... the 4KM may have been slow from some suffers, but was a nice thing to do for Paulie's Clan. It was a hot day, but a walk around West End was well received by all participants including the canines. As photos indicate, one spend much of the trip being carried.

Stephen, on the other hand, had his own sacrifices to make - Darwin. Colleague John arrived there for the first time in 15 years since his days as an army officer. The military vibe was still in Darwin- indeed 1,000 odd Marines and Sailors were in town for a joint exercise. The USS Bonhomme Richard brought with it plenty of toys - up to 40 assault helicopters; five Harrier jets; a hovercraft, an Abrams tank, and an amphibious assault tank (it was essentially a small town - it hosts 3 dentists and a pile of support services).

Arriving home Wednesday night, Stephen took off again Thursday moring for some commitments in Sydney.
