Note: the water in frozen at the edges

Paulie the Llama Whisperer

Decided to go off road

Machucan, a village close to the Bolivian border. Spanish is a second language for teh indigenous here

A cup of tea in the village of about 5 folks

On the way down from 5000 metres we saw water

It's mixing with thermal water from hot springs so is luke warm despite the stream up a bit being frozen.

Luke warm is good enough for Stephen

Where's the camera?

Ye olde shelter near the stream

Warming up.

Prehistoric cactus forest.....

Back near San Pedro is an old Incan village

Enough dust! We head back 3 hours flying to Santiago

Straight to Valparaiso on the coast

Our B & B on Concepcion Hill

Harrington B & B. Highly recommended

Some buildings not well maintained!

A day trip to vineyards

Back on Concepcion

Down our ascensor. Beats walking

The Amarda HQ. Chile has a large navy

Up another ascensor to check out the Naval College

Some of those floorboards look dated
