Festivals, Uganda, and outings aplenty.

Friday 3rd - Stephen jumps on a plane in the afternoon and meets Paulie & Olivia at a music gig that's part of the Adelaide Festival. 4th - to lunch at Lobethal Road Vineyard in Adelaide Hills . .
Meanwhile James heads to Uganda from Gatwick Airport. He's on a study tour to look at some of the projects he helped fund for Lush 5th - Time to work off the wine and lunch from the previous day. The duo start the morning with some exrcise Being the weekend, Stephen joined Paulie at the Writers Festival. A bit of philosophy moderated by ex VC of Melbourne Uni, Glyn Davis. Then Waleed Aly, Scott Stephens, et al discuss civility.
The first trip from his hotel on Kampala's outskirts, close to Rwamwanja, they visit a refugee camp where they grow mushrooms . After that it was to the rainforest area near the Congo - Bigodi James in the wetlands around Bigodi in the West that are conserved and managed by a group they partner with, KAFRED. They are demonstrating how to grow coffee in a mixed crop, biodiverse food forest.
And wetlands means hippos . In Bigodi the crew met a group of women who harvest wild fibres . 6th - out in the wee hours again
Paulie gets back to the festival whilst Stephen works at their Airbnb pad. . Stephen gets to a session on Greenwashing at the end of the day. Then he and Paulie do a bit of outside cleaning at Olivia's pad and make the gals dinner
. 7th - after work stuff Stephen visited pal David Barker who cooked some of the lovely figs off his tree. Jane was in Europe at a GE conference And in Uganda, Jamed walks through the forest. .
8th - Stephen met a Adelaide Uni contact. It's next to the Gallery, so a quick look at some Indian pieces was in order. The original Snakes and Ladders c/ the Jain faith . 13th - James visited the Nakivale Refugee Settlement checking out their projects - one of their partners, YICE,  trains farmers in refugee and low-income communities to produce mushrooms using waste materials like corn cobs. "YICE Uganda" are funded by "Re-Alliance/ Regenerosity LUSH"  c/ the hard work of James and colleagues

As James and colleagues return to their hotel in Kampala, they cross the equator And he wakes to a lovely day despite the risk of noise! - there was a concert during the night when they arrived. Later that day he headed home via Doha. Stephen tries to read the magazine but Rosie had first reading rights it seems
. 14th - it's pal Diana's birthday in Adelaide. The gals go for a quick sail before dinner. 16th - Diana and Olivia potter around Adelaide .
18th - Olivia and pals camp over the weekend. But it's not too rough - their site is close to  vinyards 19th - settled back into life in Old Blighty, James joins Keno at the opera. Philip Glass' "Akhnaten" 20th - Olivia visits  Henley Beach after work
. 30th - Olivia out for a  run at the beach . Meanwhile Paulie and Stephen are at the cinema to watch one of the French Film Festival film.
