Kicking off January 2022 - a roadtrip to Adelaide

This might be cheating given we started New Years Eve, but the year kicked off with Paulie and Stephen delivering Olivia's replacement VW Polo.She replaced the one written off by insurance because of hail damage.

Dec 31. 6:08 am.  OK it's last year, but here comes the road trip. Dec 31, 2021 - This is near Mt Lofty past Toowoomba 8:28am - first stop Millmerran Onwards
Now in NSW past Moree  @ 1pm. Lunch break 6:28 pm we hit the outskirts of Parkes, home of the radio telescope. We make sure no aliens are coming . We reach our hotel. Essential re-energising
. Now it's 2022! by 7am we're past Forbes The scenery on the Newell Highhway The scenery changes after a few hours. Drier.
But OK for Emus it seems 400 odd km on we reach Hay and the Murrumbidgee River for a pit stop... ...at the Busy Bend Reserve Getting warmer
And off again Now on the Sturt Highway Heading briefly for Victoria before crossing into South Australia. warmer still
Closing in on Mildura on the Murray River- citrus country The Murray marks the state border 3pm and we hit South Australia By 5pm we are chilling in the Renmark Hotel
. . The mighty Murray. Dinner at the hotel and ready for the last let tomorrow Meanwhile in Adelaide, Olivia & Diana watch the sun set at Henley Beach
January 2 - on the road again and heading into the Barossa wine region . Heading through the Barossa .
And we arrive in Adelaide in time for lunch! And some chores at Olivia's (fixing a hose, putting the bike that we brought down  together again) And the mission is complete. Replacement car delivered. An early dinner at Henley Beach
As we fly back soon, we have to do this to get back into Qld January 3 - the sun rises in Adelaide Looking out at the Adelaide Hills- our destination for the day. Some folks have to work however
Arriving at the Ashton Hills vineyard for a tasting. Pinots nice, shiraz better . : Pauline Turnbull Better buy some!
Then off to lunch in Uraidla The road to the heavens. Nepenthe Wines Grab a glass of wine and some nibbles And picnic on the lawn
. . . Paulie wanted to see the view from Mt BAarker. Huh? Where are we?
We then realise she meant Mt Lofty! 5:30 pm Back in Adelaide Olivia heads on her after work walk. We join her on the 6km park excursion : Pauline Turnbull Where even the horses practice social distancing
Back at Olivia's we   enjoy a wine and then Italian take aways . Jan 4 moring... it's back to AthoTurnbull HQ
