April 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic continues, but life goes on for the AthoTurnbulls.

- return to home page -

Olivia continues her work at Redcliffe Hospital in the intensive care unit, Nick is pleasantly stuck over the border with Uncle Jon and Bea. James and Keno are stuck working at at home in highly restrictive Oxford, and Paulie and Stephen bounce between their Granny Flat care of Clan Traynor and the St Lucia Atherton's house whilst working for their client a few suburbs away. Australia "flattens the curve" much earlier than France or the UK so life isn't that restrictive (and Paulie and Stephen enjoy the quieter streets anyway).

The pandemic continues but Australia was doing very well care of a fast response
April 2 - Stephen scoping out the future?
A picnic break during exercise when staying at the St Lucia Atherton home.
Then a few days later it's back to Clan Traynor's granny flat at Chapel Hill
Close to Mount Cootha for exercise
and then an afternoon rest. Joined by Lucy Traynor
Off to work
April 10 - back at St Lucia it's time for a Zoom yoga session
Lottie shares some tips on the downward dog move
A mid-week walk around the university and nobody to be seen.
The St Lucia visitor is warmly greeted
April 11 - starting the day heading up Mt Cootha
Ending it (for Olivia) heading back to her Fernberg Road house to picnic with "the Fernburgers"
.

And more yoga

Perhaps it is best to be in isolation when experimenting with a new look?
Olivia starts work on a jumper with some knitting tips from mother
That evening the collaboration continues
April 24 - A walk around the university lake
greeted by the some of the few locals on campus
April 24th - Rosie is itching to end isolation it seems
as is Lottie
Although the garden and her walks with the guys might do
April 25 at Jan & Jim Dunlop's at their Noosa hinterland home
Dawn breaks on ANZAC Day. No parades or gatherings this year
Instead, like Toni and Ella Bella Dunlop, respect is given outside their homes
In time to hear the last post played by numerous household musicians for a minutes silence
Even the wildlife pauses
But things speed up that afternoon - Paulie borrows Niece Shari's groovy roadbike
That evening in Brisbane (lunch in Oxford) the lads have a wine tasting catch up
Some of which is recorded as video in the fim section of this website.
Some honest but messy work on the fish pond at the St Lucia Atherton's to wind up the month
Led at an appropriately safe social distance by the master of the house
And Olivia's jumper is nearly finished... just has to be sewn togeather
