The first fortnight à la maison en France

Site updated on 16 Feb 2015

Feb 7th marked the first fortnight en France for Paulie and Stephen. The guys are well and truly settled in now with the house set up as desired for a long stay, and it marks a year since the team initially set up shop. Winter may not be as warm as their last visit, but they were kept warm & busy with day trips, a lovely visit from James, and plenty of "play". The guys head to the U.K. on the 24th where they have a few professional meetings to see if they can balance their play with some work.

First call is to check on Michael's (soon to be) pad around the corner

.. and then an inspection of the rest of the village

Jan 26. Australia Day. Had a couple over for dinner.. but Stephen felt a wee bit alone as the only Aussie in the village

.. unlike back in Brisbane where Olivia & Lochie were not alone.

Bedroom/study. Chris & Lou's donated kelim est parfait

Paulie out for her morning run.

In Toulouse - Les Abattoirs (now museum of mod art)

... who were very proud of their Picasso theatre backdrop

The fashionista ready to head off on a trip

A day trip to Figeac

As we go for a morning walk, snow starts to fall

... and the village transforms

kindling collecion

A drive up the stone roads to the hill town of Cordes-sur-Ceil

.. and down again in our 20 year old "Tinkerbell"

Back home - a chance to try the chorus of La Marseillaise

In summer this is an island and swimming hole

Around the gorge

Feb 5 - James has to head home to Oxford.

Which offers an opportunity to find those bikes we've been looking for

And at Blagnac InterSport store some good ones are on sale, so mission accomplished.

Time to put the bikes to work. A 20km ride is a good start

.. off road

and on road

.... through fields

As the sun sets we agree that the bikes were a good buy!
