August 2011 - a quick Tassie Stop over

Site updated on 02 Aug 2011

Stephen had a seminar to deliver at The University of Tasmania and stayed at a lovely pad. His colleagues Joe and Chris stay there all of the time but a first for Stephen who was in Hobart 9 months ago. There is some lovely art as part of the hotel.

After delivering the talk to 70 odd folks (they weren't that odd), Stephen remembered what was across the road from the hotel - a motorbike hire pad. Nice guy. And why not? The Gallery of Modern Art ended up being closed on Tuesdays, so Stephen hit the road to unwind. He rode a wee bit of the Houen Trail to around Tinderbox. The best $85 bucks he's spend in a while. Lovely. Next time Paulie has to join him!

The lovely Henry Jones Art Hotel

A lovely day, but a talk to give at the Uni at 12:00

After weeks of travel, and after the talk, time to let off some steam

Be-bloody-autiful

One of a handful of Shot Towers in ANZ

The Honda 400CB was ok on dirt too

Maybe a zip up Mt Wellington?

Mmmm... maybe not. Too rusty on bike skills to risk it
