A tradition continues
2000 -2008
Although not all that regular, the Olympics are now in their eighth year. Again, ten judges pitted themselves against the alcoholic elements and came out victors. Timing was tight with two original judges in town briefly from the UK. The day before Christmas Eve, but the show must go on. This year 25 beers were tasted (below shows you an average serving- oh dear).

Atherton questions whether such quantity makes our tasting in the least bit accurate. For example a previous winner, the wonderful “Le Fin Du Monde” won in 2002 yet was panned this year. Atherton described it as metallic - perhaps some of the aluminium wrapping was in the glass? Likewise the Canadian “La Batt Blue” did well in 2004, but was average this year. Science, Smience! We had a good time, and tastes change!

This year we supplement the photographic record with audio and video recordings. Links at top of page.

The 2008 Results : beer was consumed blind (after a few we were really blind) so the identities were unknown to us. We did have a list of all 25 beers, so guesses were made.
