Dec 14 Update: After a 12 hour bus trip Nick (with Brit pals from Norwich ) arrived in San Christobal de las Casas. Beck is making her own way down. Nick describes San Christobal as touristy. It is 3 hours from the Guatemala border & they'll decide what to do for Christmas soon. There are plans to visit the small nation of Belize... that should be interesting. It's an old Brit colony and they'll speak a creole English. Worth a bit of research .
Dec 25 Update: Nick called at Christmas (xmas Eve for them). They were in Guatemala at the idealic Lago de Atitlán (Atitlan Lake). Whilst we wait for some photos, see here. Nick said it was beau-tiful. Some shots that Nick emailed (but we unsure if they are from the lake) are below after the bus snaps. The plan is for Beck to meet her pal Claire in Belize. Nick is thinking of doing a 2 week intensive Spanish course back in Guatemala whilst the girls do their thing. So far so good. There is talk of Nick working in Panajachel (Pana) as there are a lot of tourists and his non-Spanish ways may be OK.
